RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT: "Music Inspired by Bionicle: Vol. II"
It’s happening, folks! I’m beginning the recording process of a sequel to “Music Inspired by BIONICLE”. Considering that it’s my most successful record to date, it’s only fair that it was deserving of a successor.
While working on the draft for a BIONICLE-themed charity single, the idea of making this sequel was starting to grow more and more as a possibility. I’ve also had a few compositions that have been gathering dust for quite a while, which was enough for me to finally start getting the ball rolling.
Just like the previous volume, the album will consist of eight individual tracks. However, what will make this volume different is that this time, there will be broader production value, more collaborations between different musicians, and more full-fledged songs with lyrics. The release format will also be quite different, in terms of singles.
In what I’d personally like to call the “Peter Gabriel-format”, each track will be released as individual singles. They won’t necessarily follow a particular timeframe or schedule. Every track is released when it’s finished and ready for release. Only when all eight songs have been made public, the full album will be available for streaming.
“Music Inspired by BIONICLE: Vol. II” will be exclusively available on Bandcamp, Tidal, Apple Music and YouTube. Before then, on mondays, each single will first be uploaded here on Substack for paying subscribers, before a wider release on YouTube, on fridays. Based on how long it takes to finish each track, this could happen at any given time.
I hope that with this album, not only can I build and improve on what I managed to do with the first volume, but that I can also treat it as an opportunity to grow as a musician, producer and songwriter. The vast and wide universe of BIONICLE is very much a composer’s playground, which I’m excited to explore in a much bigger scope this time around.
I’m looking forward to taking this journey with you, to celebrate the legacy of BIONICLE once again.
Until next time, love and peace to you all!
