My Twitter Migration plan...
Originally written on May 11th, 2023. Because of recent developments on Twitter, I thought I'd post the original thread in article format. Might update if things develop further...
I was going to wait to announce this... but it's happening. By the end of this year, I will be departing from Twitter, in favor of other platforms, those being Bluesky, Nostr and Mastodon.
I'll mostly be active on Bluesky, which will serve as my own personal account. It's still in beta, but if you've been able to access the app, you can find me on the handle below.

With Nostr, I intend my activity there to be more focused on memes and shitposting. I'll also be sharing my favorite music on there from time to time. You can find me via my Nostr-pubkey below:

On Mastodon, I'll focus more on talking about politics and world events. That also means I'll be more vocal about my human rights advocacy on there. You can find me at @pokermask@mastodon.social
As for my decision to do this now, instead of later, is because of my continuing disillusionment with Twitter as a platform, or centralized platforms in general. I sincerely believe decentralized social media is a future I want to invest in more.
The moon in my username with thus serve as a timer. Once it's gone dark, my time posting on Twitter is over, and I will have completely shifted my activities to the above mentioned platforms. The clock is ticking... see y'all soon.
Update: July 2nd, 2023
Yes, I’ve now finally posted this statement as a full article on Substack, and I got some things to share.
As things have developed, the moon beside my username has gone from a Full Moon to a Last Quarter, in the span of less than two months. This was alot sooner than I imagined, and things have certainly happened since then.
Elon Musk’s handling of Twitter seem to only have worsened, since I announced my pending departure, which leads me to believe I could be completely gone from the platform sooner than I imagined. As for what will happen to my account there, I’ll most likely only use it to promote new content, while my focus will be entirely on Bluesky, Mastodon and Nostr.
I’m also considering using Facebook and Instagram as promotion tools as well, but there no definite decision about that just yet. Maybe if their upcoming Twitter-alternative is successful enough, it could be enough to get the ball rolling.
Let’s see what happens…
